Freeware and Opensource software for Nokia 3650
Compatibilities with other Symbian Series 60 (s60) phones
Generally programs written for older version of phones works for the newer version of phone. That means most .sis (installer) file from Nokia 7650 can be installed on Nokia 3650 (with warning, and may cause you trouble so please download newer version of the software if possible), Nokia N-Gage, or even Nokia 6600. But newer sis files can not be installed for older phone.
Nokia 7650 uses Series 60 v 1.0, Nokia 3650, N-Gage, 3660 uses v1.2, Nokia 6600 and newer phones uses version 2.0 or better.
Freeware vs Opensource software: the differences
Freeware is only free as in gratis, but not free as in freedom. You can get a freeware application for free, but sometimes there are limitation on its usage, on its distribution, or both. If the developer of the freeware application choose not to continue with the software, you must switch to other products.
Open source software (or free software, not freeware) gives you the freedom, to use, to copy/distribute, and to modify (if you are a programmer) the application (since the source code is also given). If the creator of the software chooses not to continue the software, you can fix or enhance the software yourself (or hire someone to do it, since the source is available).

FExplorer
FExplorer is a File Manager with screen capture capability, as i know it, it can do everything what other commercial file manager can do (it can copy and paste files, search for files, view files, and send files like any other file manager). You can also change your operator logo from this application. This is a must have application for Nokia 3650.
NFS App
An NFS Server (yes, a server) for Symbian Series 60 phone (and others), it allows you to mount your Symbian files to a Linux system. Since Symbian is using mandatory file locking, not all files can be copied to Linux (file in use, and not shared). It is a very fast way to copy files from and to a Nokia 3650 (well, a card reader is faster for copying large files, but you need to turn off the phone to take out the card reader).
Avant Go
An offline news reader application (famous among Palm user). This application is already popular in PDA (especially Palm). It allows you to view specially made version of websites offline (a lot of website provides AvantGo version for their web). For example there is a BBC AvantGo channel. To use this software, you must first go to AvantGo Website, register your self, download the software, install the software to your phone, activate the software on your phone using the numbers provided, go to your PC again, select the channels that you would like to subscribe, and synchronize your 3650 using your Internet connection (you can use GPRS/CSD, or other methods if available, such as using your computer's Internet connection through bluetooth).
It's rather complicated for some users, but worth to try
HView
An opensource file viewer that supports Hex mode. One annoying thing about this application is that you have to type the name of the file yourself, you can not choose it from a list (anyone care to fix this?)
Palm Keyboard Driver
You have a universal Palm keyboard that uses infrared? you might be able to use your keyboard with your 3650, but not all keyboard works, and some keyboard has the IR Receiver in "strange" locations (you might have to rotate your phone, and that will make it harder for you to read the text you are typing since 3650 doesn't support screen rotation like Palm or Pocket PC).
ReadM
ReadM isAn e-book reader, well actually it's a multipurpose reader, since you can also open wav and mp3 files. It is very configurable (font size, screen orientation, margins, etc).

save game.
Triz
Triz is a Freeware Tetris Clone, nice, but it would have been better if it has a 'save game' facility
Visul / Klash
Visul is a game where you go in space and shoots asteroids.Xedious

Bombz
Bombzis a minesweeper clone, from the same guy who brought you Triz (Wellu Mäkinen).
Triple Pop
This game is from Nokia and has been around for long (i have played this since the Nokia 3300).
Pico Drive
Pico DriveA Sega Genesis emulator, unfortunately my favorite game Sonic is not working in this emulator.

GoBoy
GoBoyis a free GNU Game boy emulator, a nice emulator but without sound.
Cocktail
A collection of cocktail recipes, which is a very nice apps (although i never need this application).
Bible Reader (s60bible)
